The four-day sale of National Hunt-bred foals, yearlings and broodmares offers pinhookers a late opportunity to fill orders for their store offering. The sale offers stock from Ireland’s top National Hunt breeders, and is well established as a leading sale of its type. Over 87% of the 2023 catalogue comprised of foals, with total spend for this category exceeding €10.5 million. The foal section returned an average just short of €18,000, while the top price paid for a yearling was €58,000. Other recent editions of the sale have produced strong trade. Total spend over the last number of years has exceeded €12 million. The 2024 catalogue comprises of 887 lots, including 806 foals, 37 yearlings and 43 mares. The sale will begin with yearlings offered on the opening day, followed by foals, while the National Hunt breeding stock section will conclude the sale on day four. Over 80 sires are represented in the overall catalogue, including 35 foals from the 2023-2024 leading National Hunt sire Walk In The Park. Constitution Hill and Ballyburn are the November National Hunt Sale flag bearers. Constitution Hill remains unbeaten over hurdles, and in 2023 became the third-highest-rated two-mile-hurdler ever in the Anglo-Irish Jumps Classifications. Ballyburn was sold at the 2018 November National Hunt Sale and is now the fourth highest rated hurdler in Ireland after a superb novice campaign that included three Grade 1 victories. He remains a hugely exciting horse heading into his second season hurdling. Other graduates to have won at the top level include Shishkin, Stay Away Fay, Captain Teague, and Appreciate It.
