Sale Overview
The prestigious ARQANA December Vente d’Élevage will take place in Deauville in December. The final sale of the year and an unmissable event on the European breedingstock sales calendar, will be held from Saturday 9 to Tuesday 12 December. Once again, offspring of mares sold at previous editions of the sale gone on to shine at the highest level on the racetrack this year, such as FEED THE FLAME (Grand Prix de Paris, Gr.1), IRESINE (Prix Ganay, Gr.1), TRUESHAN (Prix du Cadran, Gr.1), VIA SISTINA (Yulong Pretty Polly Stakes, Gr.1), INDIA (Preis von Europe, Gr.1), SOL ORIENS in the Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2,000 Guineas, Gr.1) and GOLD TRIP in the Turnbull Stakes (Gr.1). In addition, MILITARY MISSION, ALCANTOR, HONG KONG HARRY, LUMIERE ROCK, THE GOOD MAN, ANGERS, PROTAGONIST, NEW MANDATE, JUMBY, SEE HECTOR, LORD CHARMING and FANG have all won at Group level, all out of mares bought at Deauville. Of the sales graduates bought at the sale, OTTOMAN FLEET, ROMAGNA MIA, AMAZING GRACE, SOPRAN BASILEA and GOLDANA have all won at Group level this season. The 2023 edition of the December Vente d’Élevage will offer 1000 lots made up of mares, fillies and foals. The sale will begin at 10am on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10, and at 11am on Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 December. The sale will notably hold the dispersal of the exceptional Gestüt Ammerland, that will offer 13 lots led by Listed winner and Group placed SEA THE SKY (lot 171). The very well-bred sister to SEA THE MOON hails from the close family of Group 1 winners SCHIAPARELLI, SAMUM, SALVE REGINA, SORTILEGE and SEISMOS. The first part of the catalogue on Saturday 9 December will offer a select group of 254 mares, fillies, and foals with exceptional pedigrees.
